Support in Windas Workstation is represented by ‘Fixity Code’. The template fixity code is up to 6 DOFs which represents dx, dy, dz, θx, θy, θz respectively. Using binary code, 1 means the movement or rotation is restrained whereas 0 means free. For element with less than 6 DOFs, the redundant fixity shall be assigned to 0.

For example:

  • Truss 3D [3 DOF] = 111000
  • Mitc Shell [5 DOF] = 111110
  • Beam 3D [6 DOF] = 111111

To assign support, select the points first. Using cmd type Add Support and specify the fixity code accordingly. Else, use the menu Add – Support and go to the cmd window to specify further.
