The 2 buttons highlighted below are useful to pick individual node and element respectively.

Element Picker #

Element picker allows to access element info dialog box of one selected element.

Bulk Selection #

Bulk selection might be the most powerful selection for design and engineering purposes. Good news, we have plenty of options to do so.

Here are the buttons for Layer Selection, Split Layer Selection, and Tree Selection respectively.

Layer Selection  #

Layer Selection dialog box allows selection of elements based on its layer. We can also decide which elements to be displayed while doing so.

For example, this dialog box below means that we only select Top layer but we would display Top, Diagonal, and Chord Layer :

Split Layer Selection #

Split Layer Selection allows user to choose more precisely which element to select / display. We can also do sorting based on element’s Layer ID, property ID, color ID, or Group ID.

For example, I would like to observe only beam group 4 and I’d only like to display group 4, 5, 10 and 12 with it, this is what my dialog box will look like :

I will then obtain this isolated panel with element group 4 being selected :

Tree Selection #

Tree Selection allows bulk selection based on property ID.
