Material assignment is a general attribute that applies to ALL element types, be it 1D, 2D or 3D. Materials are defined using Property ID.
Typically, for 1D (Line) element, the Material will be defined together with the Section Property.
For 2D (Membrane / Plate / Shell) and 3D (Solid) element, the assignment will only be done in Material Property. No section property attribute.
